This classic African safari evokes safaris of yesteryear... you'll embark on an expedition to get to know the world's most majestic animals, the "Big Five," in their natural habitats within the magnificent national parks of Kenya and Tanzania.
A safari in Kenya and Tanzania – the Maasai call the Serengeti ecosystem "Siringitu" which means "the place where the land moves on forever." Here columns of wildebeest plod along centuries-old migration routes; behind them, prides of lions prowl, completing the circle of life... elephants, buffaloes and hippos graze upon the large coarse grasses, while zebras and topi wait their turn... From the vast plains of Tanzania's Serengeti to the wildlife-rich landscapes of Kenya, this remarkable safari brings you into the heart of East Africa. Descend into Ngorongoro Crater, where lions, elephants, zebras, and countless other animals thrive within the walls of an ancient volcanic caldera. Explore the Serengeti on morning and afternoon game drives, watching for great herds of wildebeest and zebra, and soar above the savanna at dawn on a hot-air balloon flight, followed by a champagne toast and breakfast in the bush. In Kenya, discover the distinctive wildlife of Samburu National Reserve, venture into Ol Pejeta Conservancy in search of endangered black rhinos, and spend two nights at the Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club, with a barbecue dinner under the stars. Meet members of local Samburu and Maasai communities, visit Kenyan artisans who spin, dye, and weave wool by hand, and explore the secluded Olderkesi Conservancy in the greater Maasai Mara ecosystem, where open plains and acacia woodlands provide a haven for wildlife. Throughout your journey, expert guides, intimate game drives, and exceptional safari lodges bring you closer to the landscapes, wildlife, and people that make East Africa unforgettable. What's Included
